"Paul Strickland is a fantastic storyteller and one funny guy. Actually, funny is an understatement — he’s hysterical."
- Kelly Fitzpatrick, Orlando Sentinel
"The words of this stand-up-philosopher will linger in your ears all night."
- Katelyn Coyne, NUVO Indianapolis
After not graduating with degrees in creative writing and vocal performance from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro Paul got married, then divorced, then decided to crash on couches and make jokes and stories his bread and butter, because bread and butter got expensive. Now he is who he is probably as a result of all of that.
Paul has won numerous awards for his performances, including the 2012 “Best Solo Performance" award from Freeline Media and the 2013 Linda Bowen "Pick of the Fringe" award from the Cincinnati Fringe Festival, and most recently received rave reviews from the Winnipeg Free Press and Edmonton Sun (both 5 STARS) for his solo shows at Winnipeg and Edmonton Fringe Festivals (the two largest theater festivals in North America) where he sold out numerous shows. Paul is signed to “ON TOUR” Record Label, and his albums “Levels of Difficulty” and “Adolescence of Adulthood” are played every day on Sirius / XM Satellite Radio.
"I firmly believe that making people laugh at themselves and think in a new way about their world is a good way to help them escape while, hopefully, gaining some perspective on what they're escaping from, and distracting them from the fact that I just took their money."
"An hour spent with master storyteller Paul Strickland is an hour well spent and one which you shouldn’t miss." - Cincinnati Enquirer
"In his low-key, everyman delivery, he speaks for all us — in a much funnier way than we could do it ourselves." - Matt Palm, Orlando Sentinel
