Josh Branham

Kentucky native Josh Branham is one of the quirkiest, most original voices in stand-up comedy. (Editor’s Note: The first sentence once referred to him as one of the “most original young voices in comedy,” which would have been a bold-faced lie unless you’re one of those lunatics who think that 40 is the new 20.) With over 15 years of stand-up experience under his rapidly expanding belt, Josh’s mastery of deadpan silliness has earned him appearances on AXS TV’s Gotham Comedy Live and on popular podcasts like Kill Tony.

While living in Los Angeles in 2003, a series of poorly made (but in retrospect, hilarious) decisions led to Josh being homeless. Seeking shelter from the summer heat, he followed a few of his fellow drifters into an open mic night at the world famous Comedy Store. Fortunately, when compared with life on the streets, bombing at an open mic night was a relatively serene experience. Josh was soon hooked on stand-up and became an overnight success 15 years later.

After leaving LA to hone his comedic voice on the road, Josh performed with major comedians like Henry Phillips, Jay Mohr, Neal Brennan, Jay Pharoah, Ms. Pat and Etta May. His list of noteworthy comedy festival appearances includes Gilda’s Laugh Fest, Cincinnati’s Brew Ha Ha, Laugh Your Asheville Off, and Skankfest.

Josh currently lives in New York City with his wife and her health insurance.
